ITSS Delivers Highly Successful Non-Levy Employer Engagement Project

Non-Levy Business Visits – Rip Roaring Success!

It is always difficult to predict how employers will react to non-levy Apprenticeship support, when knowledge and awareness of the latest Apprenticeship rules and  support remains so low.

In the face of this uncertainty, in May 2018, ITSS Ltd advisers were engaged to spearhead a business engagement campaign for a Midlands-based University, undertaking employer visits for them to raise awareness of non-levy funding and the Apprenticeship programmes available for 90% funding.

This is the best kept secret of the Apprenticeships sector – 90% funding available to train your staff!

…along with the second best kept secret – 90% funding available for first degrees and MBA’s (if studied via an Apprenticeship).

The pilot employer engagement programme (conducted from May until early August 2018), was a rip-roaring success with approximately 70 appointments generated and over 50 visits completed by ITSS, yielding 53 learners and 8 Apprenticeship vacancies in just 3 months!

The L&M Apprenticeships (Chartered Manager Apprenticeships at Degree and MBA level) literally flew off the shelves, highlighting the growing demand from SMEs for assistance with developing their management teams. The Engineering Degree Apprenticeships also proved extremely popular.

ITSS was delighted to assist our client in the successful delivery of this pilot project.  We believe one of the keys to the success of the project was our use of highly-qualified business advisers with apprenticeship expertise, who were able to cut through the usual jargon and engage business owners and managers in ‘real-world’ discussions to both highlight the business benefits of Apprenticeships and reassure potential clients about some of their concerns, including the level of commitment required to complete the courses.

No doubt October 2018 will be remembered as the month when the University had all hands to the pump enrolling a new flood of Apprentice students! !
